What Now?
After the media tour dies down, Were able to see they made the Today Show this morning, thank goodness. authorities are going to take a hard look at what to do to this family. They will not likely be charged with anything because it all rests on the shoulders of a young child but any good will they had has floated away. Our guess is that they were not looking for this to be as big a production but as it grew, the deeper they dug in. Us that lie on a regular basis, know how that can happen.

Let this story die and go away. I am ever so happy the little boy is fine. It was very frightening to watch the videos and think about that poor little guy and his family. However, if it was “done for the show”, I say they have had their 15 minutes. Too many other important and WORTHY stories to report than to feed into this sickness.
Anyone with a basic high school education, or just a lick of common sense could tell you a 20′ x 5′ helium balloon couldn’t lift 10lbs, much less a 80+ lbs 6 year old. This was a hoax…100%. That father needs to be jailed for FAA airspace violations, sued for the extra cost of fuel in delays he created for the airlines. I am an FAA center air traffic controller.
If this family is truly on the up and up and this is the true story then maybe the boy surfaced from the attic and was so frightened of the activity going on that his father ran to him and said “it’s ok, it’s for the show”. Since the boy had been familiar with the cameras and all just months earlier. So maybe it was just a protective reaction on the part of the dad. I can see myself saying that. On the other hand, there is just something about that Dad that doesnt sit right. Not really trusting him right now. Thank god the little boy is ok. That’s the most important thing. You can’t control what comes out of the mouth of a 6 year old. It did look like the dad wanted to belt the kid. It was so embarrassing. But it could have been an innocent comment. I don’t think it was…but it could have been.
Watching that ‘oops’ moment, my opinion is this was a hoax concocted by dad. Look at the reaction of mom and dad when he blurts out his little gem – clearly he had gone off the script. Dad’s reaction to Wolf’s attempt at getting him to ask the simple question is another nail in the coffin – first no reaction (delaying, thinking about what to do), then asking Falcon a different question (trying to frame it so he gets the ‘right’ answer), then when he realises Wolf won’t have it and he wants the clear question (‘what did you mean?’), dad uses the old liar’s standby – feigned indignation and “I won’t dignify that with a response” basically.

Terry, good points – but I can disregard that possibility because dad has never, even as of this mornings ’round of interviews’ clarified in that way. I can see myself as a parent saying that to a frightened child – but I would also remember doing it afterwards if asked why my kid was now saying ‘we did it for the show’…
I know the publicity coordinator who worked with this family during the taping of the Wife Swap episode on ABC. She confirmed what I was feeling watching the live video- “These people are media ‘whores’ that will do anything for publicity. They’re completely insane.”
Can you say “weird” ????? Parents should be jailed – this was a HOAX – watch the video of the little boy – we SAYS they wanted to be on TV — sad state of affairs in this home…
